GP-04, the pain(t)ing

I finally return to this model. To tell you the truth. I ran out of the screwer for Gaplant. Returning to this model after such long layoff presented some problems, such as cracking in the putty filled putty and forgetting how to airbrush and shading. Not that I was any good to begin with. After many tries, I finally got it into a presentable shape.

Still need to paint the nozzles, minus molds, decals, and a wash. I will update the blog when everything is done.

Gaplant.... almost done.... building.

The school has been very busy with summer research. I completed the last piece of the major modifications for the Gaplant. Now it is just tying up loose end here and there.

Extreme makeover: Gaplant Edition

Posted some cosmetic surgery on the head of the Gaplant. Look like I am almost home free on the construction part.

Awesome scratchbuild

Okay. The competition is officially over. This guy is my hero. His website is definitely worth study over and over. I usually don't post pictures to avoid copyright issues, but I have to give you this as a teaser.

Yubaba's new work

Look like many great works in the June edition of Gunpla magazines for us fanatics to drool over. Yubaba is slaving over new conversion/scarchbuild of various Gundam Unicorn MS to appear in the June edition of Hobby Japan. Since I am a non-Japanese reader, having the in-prog pictures is just as good as having the magazine, which might not have these detailed build progress. Enjoy.

A2 craft

It is part of my hobby to browse the web and study from professional modelers. A2 craft is one of the modeler that I enjoyed very much. He constantly updates his diary of current work that makes me want to learn to read Japanese. His attention to details are amazing while not overloading the model with details. His most recent work on the AOZ diorama will be published in the June issue of Dengeki magazine.

A bit of new stuff

Been busy with moving to a new home. Not much new modeling work to talk about, so I write up how I scratchbuild the shoulders of the Gundam Ver Ka.

New progress: Gaplant

The school where I work is on spring break, so I get some free time to finish up the feet of the ORX-005 Gaplant.

New work added

Added a new entry to my work. This is from way back then when I started trying my hand at plastic card and putty. I found the old in progress pictures and thought it would be nice to document it. I think this project is now much easier using newer HGUC kits. In fact I remember Garage T4 has done a very nice work. I recommend new comers to the gunpla modification should try this out as one of the first projects.

I will fill in all of the details in the coming days.

3/12/2008:

Yubaba's KSHATORIYA

Here are the scratchbuildd by yubaba , who never cease to amaze me. Many of his works contain detailed in-progs that are worth studying. His Kshatoriya should look familiar to those who have recent issues of Hobby Japan or Dengeki Hobby.
